Job Summary / Overview
The Rotating Equipment Planner is responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities for all rotating equipment within Natgasoline. The planner will engage and collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and reliability teams to develop job plans that detail the necessary work tasks, specific parts and materials, required resources, and the personnel needed to allow safe and efficient execution of work. This role is critical in minimizing equipment downtime and optimizing reliability.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for validating the current work scope and providing accurate plans to support downstream execution.
- Works closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on maintenance priorities and activities.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates on maintenance status and any issues that may arise.
- Fosters a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Conducts field walk downs to identify and document job requirements
- Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work
- Estimates the required hours, total duration and skills required to perform the task
- Determines and includes QA/QC requirements for jobs
- Gathers necessary Engineering or Technical documents, specifications and drawings
- Determines and arranges material, equipment, specialty tools required to perform the work
- Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials
- Schedules qualified vendors to provide necessary personnel and services for on-site tasks and off-site repairs
- Performs necessary Maximo activities to plan, execute, and manage work activities efficiently
- Maintains accurate bills of materials for rotating equipment assets in Maximo
- Identifies opportunities for improving maintenance processes and equipment reliability; Implements best practices to optimize plant performance
- Ensures all Maximo work orders, maintenance logs and QA documentation are updated and closed out when work is completed
- Understanding of contract services quote / estimate breakdown and understanding of craft work rules.
- Always presents a professional image to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company
- Follows all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Assists other Departments and other administrative personnel, as necessary.
- Support Outage, Down period, and TAR planning assignments as necessary.
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
Education, Experience, and/or Training
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing setting required.
- Minimum five (5) years’ proven hands-on experience performing major inspections and repairs on centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, pumps, and motors.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and repair practices.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling software (e.g., Maximo, SAP).
- Microsoft Projects & Primavera experience a plus
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.

Physical
- Ability to work in a plant environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and hazardous materials.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to sit for prolonged amounts of time required.
- Ability to effectively communicate through various means required.
- Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of scaffolds, stairs, and ladders, at varied excessive heights.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection).
Environmental
- Some work is performed within an office environment, including office equipment – such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
- The role may involve working outside of regular business hours to address urgent maintenance needs or during plant shutdowns.
- Noise levels are typically moderate but may be at elevated levels when conducting field activities.
Work Schedule
- Regular 40-hour work week, normal duty hours as assigned.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- May work longer hours to meet deadlines as necessary or to support facility emergencies.
Travel
- Less than 10% of the time.
