Job Summary / Overview
The Maintenance Mechanical Planner is responsible for the execution of all Maintenance work planning for Natgasoline Beaumont mechanical assets. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective use of planning all resources to conduct maintenance activities which results in minimum downtime and maximum productivity. To fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, the Mechanical Planner is authorized to develop job plans, define parts and materials, define crafts and skills, and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective work control plan.
Essential Job Functions

- Responsible for the initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of the required level of planning, including applicable QA/QC requirements for jobs.
- Conducts field walk-downs to identify and document job requirements, including any specific safety hazards that may be encountered during the execution of the work.
- Develop comprehensive work packages that include man-hours, required crafts, equipment, external resources, parts, materials, and any associated engineering or technical documentation, specifications, and drawings.
- Perform queries in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Provide off-hour support for maintenance issues, materials, or services as necessary
- Create and maintain job plans for repetitive maintenance activities.
- Provide planning and support for equipment outages, unit shutdowns, and plantwide turnarounds.
- Able to accurately measure the maintenance backlog in its various forms and continually always maintain no less than 2 weeks’ worth of ready backlog.
- Monitor the life cycle of work orders, up to and including, close-out when work is complete.
- Maintain a professional image and follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- NCCER certification for a mechanical craft preferred
Education, Experience, and/or Training
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance planning in a Refinery, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas process facility required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of computer knowledge and experience in but not limited to scheduling software, MS Office Suite, and CMMS programs, such as SAP or Maximo required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Journeyman level mechanical craft experience required.

- Experience in CMMS Programs (Maximo Preferred)
- Experience in Prometheus preferred
Physical
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to sit for prolonged amounts of time required.
- Ability to effectively communicate through various means required.
- Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of scaffolds, stairs, and ladders, at varied excessive heights.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection).
Environmental
- Majority of work is performed within an office environment, including office equipment – such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
- Requires consistent fieldwork at times in extreme weather conditions.
- Noise levels are typically moderate.
Work Schedule
- Rotating four (4) day, ten (10) hour workweek, normal duty hours as assigned
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- May work longer hours to meet deadlines, as necessary.
Travel
- Less than 10% of the time.
